Davidson, Richard Curry {I019} (b. 13 APR 1845, d. MAY 1927)
Note: Richard Curry Davidson Sr. , Mary Ann Shaw Davidson, (and Baby), and Grace Davidson are buried in the Evergreens Cemetery, Pleasant Hill Section # 6962, Brooklyn, New York.

Richard Curry Davidson Sr., ( A Carpenter by Trade), came to the United States about 1876 after losing his wife and children. He was expecting to go to Idaho, but stopped in New York City to visit the Shaw family who had been good friends in Ballynahinch Ireland. He fell in love with Mary Ann (Minnie) and they were married in spite of various members of the Shaw family objecting of the marriage because of the age difference (14 years). There were other children born to this union, besides the three above mentioned. But they died very early in life. Mary Ann (Minnie) died in child birth (as did baby Stella) at the age of 41. After her death her sister Elizabeth Osborne (Lizzie) Shaw who never married, raised the three children and also cared for Richard Curry Davidson Sr. in his old age. She also raised several Shaw nephews. They are buried in Evergreens Cemetery, Pleasant Hill Section. Lot # 6962, Brooklyn, New York. Their daughter Grace is also buried in this plot.
